Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Norz ("the App") handles information when you use the App. Norz is a local-first focus and to-do application designed to help you start tasks, run focus sessions, and review your progress without requiring a cloud account.
Information Stored on Your Device
Norz stores app data locally on your device so the core experience can work offline. This may include:
- Tasks, titles, notes, due dates, priorities, pinned status, and estimated focus time.
- Focus sessions, including start time, end time, duration, related task, and completion status.
- Daily statistics, including focus minutes, completed tasks, and streak information.
- App settings, including language, theme, notification preference, focus target, and task-picking preference.
We do not operate a backend server for Norz, and we do not upload your task content, notes, focus sessions, or local statistics to our own server.
Device Features and Permissions
Norz may require internet access for ads and related Google Mobile Ads SDK functionality. The App does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, photos, or files for its core task and focus features.
If notification features are enabled in a future release or by the operating system, notification permission may be used only to provide focus or reminder notifications that you choose to enable.
Advertising and Third-Party Services
Norz uses Google Mobile Ads / AdMob to show banner and interstitial ads. Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect and share certain information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Depending on your device, settings, region, and Google services, this may include:
- IP address.
- App interactions and ad interactions.
- Diagnostic information.
- Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and related account/device information.
Norz does not intentionally send task titles, notes, or focus-session content to Google for advertising. You can learn more here:

How We Use Information
We use locally stored app data to:
- Display and manage your tasks.
- Start, pause, stop, and complete focus sessions.
- Calculate daily progress, streaks, and statistics.
- Remember your language, theme, and focus preferences.
- Improve the usability of the local app experience.
Advertising-related data handled by Google Mobile Ads is used by Google and its partners for purposes such as ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and analytics, as described in Google's policies.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your task content, notes, focus sessions, or local productivity history with our own servers because Norz does not currently use a cloud account system.
Information may be processed or shared by Google Mobile Ads as part of ad serving and measurement. Please review Google's policies for details about Google's collection, sharing, and controls.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your task, focus, settings, and statistics data remain on your device until you delete them, reset app data, or uninstall the App.
You can delete local app data by:
- Using the reset data option inside Norz, if available in your version of the App.
- Clearing the App's storage from your device settings.
- Uninstalling the App.
Advertising data handled by Google is retained according to Google's own policies and your Google account/device advertising settings.
Security
Norz is designed as a local-first app. We use platform-provided local storage for app data and avoid sending your task and focus content to our own servers. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and you should avoid storing highly sensitive personal information in task titles or notes.
Children's Privacy
Norz is not directed to children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can review the issue.
International Users
Your locally stored app data stays on your device. Advertising-related data may be processed by Google and its partners in various countries according to their policies and applicable law.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
